Chapter 02 · Method

Understand. Invest. Measure.

Uru's model is a repeatable way to connect one business problem to one focused investment and a result you can observe.

01

Understand

Find the business problem that is most likely to be limiting growth.

Start with the customer journey, operating numbers, demand, margins, and capacity. Separate the main bottleneck from its symptoms and write down what the evidence does and does not show.

What to write down

  • ·Bottleneck statement
  • ·Evidence summary
  • ·Open questions

02

Invest

Choose one focused investment that directly addresses the bottleneck.

The investment could be a hire, equipment, software, a system, or another capability. Define the full cost, the operating change it should create, who will lead the work, and how long implementation should take.

What to write down

  • ·Defined investment
  • ·Implementation owner
  • ·Measurement plan

03

Measure

Check whether the operating change happened and whether revenue followed.

Use the agreed business record and review schedule. Compare the result with the starting point, explain other factors that may have affected it, and decide whether to continue, adjust, stop, or examine the next bottleneck.

What to write down

  • ·Results record
  • ·Lessons learned

Principle

Every step should leave a clear written record.

Writing down the bottleneck, the investment, the assumptions, and the result makes it easier to challenge the plan and learn from what happened.
